If you are familiar with all the Acadamiacs song (well some of the 2,000+) you will know how much your child will learn! Our first and second graders will not only learn the required material for the State of VA, but exceed it in every way.

Singing will be a part of their daily experience. Expect to hear songs about Washington, Jefferson, George Washington Carver, The Periodic Table of the Elements, geology, ancient civilizations, mathematics, language arts and more. Students will also enjoy art lessons that compliment their academic material and reinforce the concepts they are learning in English and en Espanol!

There will be minimal homework assigned to keep students on pace with all subjects, especially language arts and mathematics. There will be projects, field trips, guest speakers and professionals, public speaking activities and centers for the students to engage socially, emotionally and academically. Growth from discovery and exploration is so natural and healthy (and FUN!)
Your child's weekly schedule will include:

Academics will be taught Monday through Thursday. Yes, because our classes are small our students finish their academics in 4 days and even surpass their public and private school counterparts. That’s what makes our school truly unique. Friday is the gem of the week with K-3rd receiving an hour of music, and hour of art and an hour of Spanish.

Virginia Dill’s music theory videos and Acadamiacs songs will be viewed by students all week long to make music a daily activity.

We have a Spanish curriculum for the students to enjoy every day in addition to the daily visits from our Spanish teachers.
Our instructors are time proven, beloved staff at the Virginia Beach School of the Arts many of whom have their M Ed‘s and beyond. Their energy and enthusiasm for teaching, learning and children is vivacious!
Parents,

We are establishing 1st - 6th grades as support co-ops, therefore you must register your child as homeschooled with the State of Virginia. Attendance and record keeping are the responsibility of the parent. However, our fully degreed staff will be available for teaching, testing and grading your child. You simply keep the file and records we send home. Communicate frequently with your child’s teacher to be involved in daily classroom activities. Easy!

In the spring, our students will take achievement tests that will provide a measurement of your child's progress.

Because of our establishment as a support co-ops, you may be asked to periodically volunteer in class. No prep work is required. You will simply be an extra set of hands for the teachers and provide more individualized attention as needed.

We look forward to a fun year!
