Hip Hop Division 1 ages 6-10
Hip Hop Division 2 ages 11-teen
Hip-hop is divided into old school and new school styles. Old school dances evolved in the 70’s and 80’s and is danced primarily to funk and old-school hip-hop. New school hip hop is a hybrid of older street dances with added elements being heavier, aggressive and slower. It emerged in the 90’s with liquid dancing and movement.
Students will learn the original elements of hip-hop, combinations and styles. Through its three main styles of popping, locking and breaking, hip-hop dance has evolved Into one of the most popular and influential styles of dance today.
Music and movements will be censored to reflect age appropriate innocence
