POLICY
LATE PICKUPS:
When you are unable to pick your child up on time after school or Kids Club their teacher or assistant will escort them to Kids Club. Relax! Your child is in caring, loving hands! There will be a $5.00 charge every 15 minutes block a parent is late.
Almost all members of our staff are moving on to afternoon classes and other commitments this year and we need students picked up on time.
Life happens and we want you to know your child is in a safe place until you do arrive. If it appears you are going to be late a text would be appreciated.
PURPOSE
Kids Club is designed to be open play time for children in a safe environment. We want children to play, to run, chase, swing, climb and explore in the safe outdoor and indoor space we provide, fostering physical development. We encourage children to discover, touch, mix, smell, and engage in the environment whether indoors or out addressing mental development. We provide free time for children to engage in sharing, taking turns and social interaction to build respectful relationships with other children and adults developing social and emotional development We have staff stationed at each of our play areas, both indoor and out. We speak to children in a calm, kind voice, in a quiet manner, face to face if we need to intervene.
Student’s phones/electronic devices will not be allowed on the playground or inside. Staff members will keep their phone with them at all times, personal use is asked to be minimal. We suggest keeping personal toys at home.
Unfortunately accidents do happen!
In the event a child needs our first aid attention, we will glove ourselves and clean the wound using clean water, and an adhesive bandage if necessary.
If more attention is needed the Director/Staff will contact the parent or emergency contact. We will file an Incident Report, and try to take a picture of the wound. Incident Reports will be kept in the VBS of the Arts office.
